Happy almost-fall, neighbors

The evenings have that first crisp edge, dahlias are having a moment in Snohomish, and Mukilteo's waterfront is about to fill up with fireworks and fair food. Between two festival weekends, a full slate of live music, and county-wide farmers markets easing into their last weeks, there's a lot worth circling on the calendar. Here's your next ten days.

Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival — Friday–Sunday, Sept. 11–13, Lighthouse Park, Mukilteo. The city's biggest weekend of the year: a Saturday parade, a live music stage all weekend, food trucks, a beer garden, and fireworks over the water Saturday night. Free.

Rotary Club of Edmonds Oktoberfest Family Festival — Friday, Sept. 11 (3–10pm) & Saturday, Sept. 12 (noon–10pm), Edmonds Civic Playfield. Beer garden, food vendors, a stein-holding contest, and a Saturday afternoon pet parade — family-friendly until 7pm both days.

Seagaze Festival — Friday–Sunday, Sept. 11–13, five stages across downtown Everett (Horseshoe Tavern, The Cabaret, Lucky Dime, APEX, Bayside Cafe). A weekend-long indie music crawl hopping between downtown venues.

Snohomish in Bloom & Wine Walk — Saturday, Sept. 12, Historic Downtown Snohomish. The city's first-ever flower festival brings botanical art and a dahlia show to First Street by day, then an evening wine walk (4–8pm) pours ten Washington wineries across ten downtown shops.

Everett Art Walk — Thursday, Sept. 17, 5–8pm, galleries and shops along Hewitt Avenue, downtown Everett. This month's self-guided crawl includes new shows at Zamarama Gallery and Artspace Everett Lofts.

Schacktoberfest — Now through Sept. 27, Schack Art Center, Everett. A harvest-themed exhibition built around a 1,000-pumpkin glass pumpkin patch, 100+ works by regional artists, and hands-on pumpkin-making sessions in the hot shop.

Friday, Sept. 11 — Leroy Bell & His Only Friends with Lady A @ Kings Hall, APEX Everett (Everett), 7pm.

Friday, Sept. 11 — Matthew Morrison Presents "Show Up" @ Edmonds Center for the Arts (Edmonds), 7:30pm.

Friday–Sunday, Sept. 11–13 — MukFest Beer Garden music stage @ Lighthouse Park (Mukilteo): Rebel Canyon and Ryan T Higgins Band play Friday, a Journey tribute band headlines Saturday before the fireworks, and Savanna Woods closes it out Sunday afternoon.

Saturday, Sept. 12 — Michael Mathers: An Eminem Tribute Act @ Kings Hall, APEX Everett (Everett), 9pm.

Saturday, Sept. 12 — Moon Fleur: Soul of Santana @ Legion Park (Arlington), 6pm — part of the city's summer concert series, paired with the farmers market's midday "Tunes at Noon."

Wednesday, Sept. 16 — The Davanos @ The Forum, Mill Creek Town Center (Mill Creek), 6–8pm.

Wednesday, Sept. 16 — Queen: It's A Kinda Magic, a Queen tribute direct from Australia, @ Edmonds Center for the Arts (Edmonds), 7:30pm.

Thursday, Sept. 17 — Live music at Bands, Brats & Brews @ Forge 47 (Everett), 4–7pm.

Friday, Sept. 18 — DoctorfunK & Moxie @ Kings Hall, APEX Everett (Everett), 8pm.

Everett: Imagine Children's Museum hosts a Neighborhood Harvest Party Sat 9/12 (three sessions from 10:30am) and a free Community Access Night Thu 9/17, 3–7pm, with complimentary trolley rides to a guided Everett Station tour. The Everett Farmers Market runs Sundays on Wetmore Ave (9/13 & 9/20, 10:30am–3pm). Normanna Lodge serves its monthly Swedish pancake breakfast Sat 9/12, 8–11am, and Butter Notes Cafe hosts a Sunday Jazz Jam 9/13, 6–8pm. The Autumn Equinox Harvest Market brings artisan vendors to the VOA Carl Gipson Center Sat 9/19, noon–5pm. And Snohomish County PUD celebrates the opening of a new community solar array near Walter E. Hall Park Sat 9/19, with proceeds funding energy-bill assistance for low-income households.

Edmonds: The Edmonds Museum Summer Market sets up at 5th & Bell downtown Saturdays 9/12 and 9/19, 9am–2pm. Cascadia Art Museum's current photography and sculpture exhibitions close out their run this weekend (through Sun 9/13). Comedian Jon Lovitz brings a stand-up night to the Edmonds Center for the Arts Thu 9/17, 7:30pm. Edmonds in Bloom hosts "Bloomfest! The Dahlia Gala," a free evening celebrating the city's flower culture, at the Edmonds Yacht Club Wed 9/16. And the Edmonds Civic Roundtable takes up the Highway 99 revitalization project Mon 9/14 — open to the public.

Lynnwood: "Fair on 44th" closes down 44th Ave for food trucks, city department demos, and live entertainment Sat 9/12, 10am–2pm. Sno-Isle's Lynnwood Library welcomes underwater filmmaker Annie Crawley for a talk on Puget Sound octopuses, "Remarkably Real Creatures: Cephalopods," Wed 9/16, 6–7:30pm. And travel writer Rick Steves keynotes the Lynnwood Chamber's Leadership Gala Thu 9/18.

Marysville: Touch-A-Truck brings free kid-friendly vehicle exploring to Asbery Field Sat 9/12, 10am–1pm. Sno-Isle's Marysville Library runs a kids' paper-flower craft class Fri 9/11 and a "Musical Petting Zoo" letting kids try string and percussion instruments Fri 9/18, both 3:30–4:30pm.

Monroe: A packed Saturday 9/12 — a Rotary Field ribbon-cutting at 9am and "Swifts Night Out" at the Wagner Performing Arts Center, 4:30–8:30pm — followed Sunday 9/13 by the R/C Unlimiteds Apple Cup at Lake Tye Park and a Rainbow Color Walk/Run fundraiser for local student education. The Monroe Farmers Market runs Wednesdays through Sept. 30 at the Galaxy Theatres parking lot, 3–7pm (next up: 9/16).

Snohomish: Beyond Snohomish in Bloom, the Historic Downtown farmers market runs Thu 9/17, 3–7pm. Brew in the Barn brings craft beer, wine, and spirits tasting to Thomas Family Farm Sat 9/12, 5–10pm, benefiting youth football, while Craven Farm hosts its own Oktoberfest with live music the same evening, 5–8pm. Sno-Isle's Snohomish Library welcomes a certified therapy dog for "Reading with Rover" Sat 9/12, 2–3pm. A Weekend Run/Walk Club meets at the Centennial Trail head both Sundays (9/13 & 9/20, 10am), and "Fill the Boot for MDA" collects downtown Sat 9/19.

Arlington: The farmers market and "Tunes at Noon" fill Legion Park Saturdays 9/12 and 9/19, 10am–2pm. Sno-Isle's Arlington Library hosts a community garden harvest and seed swap Sat 9/19, 11am–noon.

Stanwood: The farmers market sets up behind the police station Fridays 9/11 and 9/18, 2–6pm, and Touch A Truck rolls into Stanwood High School Sat 9/12, 10am. To close the window, the library gives away free bike helmets and offers free repairs Sun 9/20, 1–4pm, followed by a talk on crow and raven behavior with UW researcher Dr. John Marzluff, 5–6pm.

Mill Creek: Beyond The Davanos concert, the city hosts "City Chat – Autumn," a community forum with city leaders, Wed 9/16 at the Senior Center, and a National CleanUp Day event Sat 9/19, 9am–noon at City Hall North.
